    Coil Slides (2016)

One of Léna's first films, "Coil Slides" was created for exhibition as a part of "Vignettes", 2016, held at the Fitzrovia Gallery, London. The short uses lofi editing to interfere with the preset aspect ratios often used when editing, and seeks to create a visual dreamscape.

    Venus (2015)

Made as a visual exploration of fragments and motion as form of painting with film, I wanted to explore colour and the unique spaces that the digital and analogue inhabit. Many of these shots were produced over the period of a year. As my last film was collaborative, with this project I wanted to produce this short film independently (by myself). I have created all aspects of this film, including the title card and soundtrack.

    Ictus (2015)

Ictus is an exploration of the themes of Cultural Identity and Risky Behaviour. In the film, the protagonist’s sounds and physical actions were used as a tool to disrupt social conventions within inner-city London. The film presents, through the senses (touch, sound and imagery), a personal experience of London as a city, and the emotional spaces the city creates. We focused on a few overwhelming scenes of busy traffic, aiming to visually represent feelings of vertigo one might experience in relation to the movement of the city, such as the hoards of people walking over the concrete, helicopters flying overhead, a crowded tube carriage and so on. Throughout the film, an emotional buildup is inferred- represented through the sounds and actions slowly becoming louder and grander, eventually leading to the dramatic final scene.
